The Florida Institute for Forensic Anthropology & Applied Sciences (IFAAS) at USF is hosting a 24-hour training for medical examiners, death investigators, detectives, crime scene personnel, and prosecutors, as well as other forensic specialists who work in the area of violent crime investigations.

This is a hands-on lab course and a crash course in human osteology.

We will spend an afternoon at our outdoor research facility to learn how to identify and locate scattered human remains. Participants will also learn the basic bone identification, time since death estimation, taphonomic changes to bone due to the outdoor Florida environment, and the latest methods in forensic anthropology for human identification.
